How to Apply

Admission to St Josephs’ Private Language School – National and American Sections:
 Parents and their child are welcome to contact the administration office throughout the year to arrange an appointment for parent & student interview and assessment of their child(ren). Students are then assign to a grade based on age and academic level as assessed through placement test, previous school records and availability of seats.

Admission Policy:
        Students applying for admission are considered on an individual basis. Admission and grade level placement are finalized after evaluation of previous school records, completion of school admission examinations (MAP and Arabic exams for grades 3 through 10) and a personal interview with school administration. Students who transfer from another school must have an evaluation of their grades to determine which courses will transfer as credits to SJAS as well as a letter from their previous school addressing academic and behavioral concerns.
    All students admitted to SJAS must live with a parent or a legal guardian. If proper supervision is not established, a recommendation will be made to withdraw the student.

KG and Grade 1 Students

Kindergarten registration for each year starts in April, and continues until all of the available seats are filled. To be eligible for admission to kindergarten 1 (KG1), he/she must have reached the age of 3 ½ years on or before September 1 of the school year. However, a child who transfers from another school or country shall be admitted under the same age requirements as established by the school where he/she previously resided.

Students entering first grade should be six(6) years old on or before September 1 of the school year and shall satisfy one (1) of the following requirements:
  a) Previous enrollment and attendance in an Egyptian school;
  b) Satisfactory completion of kindergarten requirements
  c) Previous attendance in an out-of-area school in which he / she was admitted on the basis of age requirement established by the country of residency

Required Documents

Upon acceptance of admission to St. Joseph’s School the parents are required to provide the following:
  a. 6 passport photos
  b. Photocopy of birth certificate or passport of child
  c. Proof of residency in South Sinai Government
  d. Copy of last educational certificate,  and transcript
  e. Copy of parent’s / guardians ID
  f. Stamps
  g. Signed completed application by parent (s) or Guardian(s)
  h. Health certificate stating student has received all immunizations and is free from any infectious disease.
  i. Copy of parent's higher education certificates
  j. Passport size photo of each parent or Guardian.

Students transferring from another school within Egypt must also provide:
  i. Transferable request (4 copies)
  ii. Enrollment form
  iii. Grade sheet from the Ministry of Education
  iv. Letter of behavior from previous school

Students transferring from another school OUTSIDE of Egypt must also provide:
  i. Original Birth Certificate
  ii. Letter from the embassy stating that the student is allowed to study at St. Joseph’s School
  iii. Residency visa – valid until the end of the academic year
  iv. Parents are required to register their child with the Ministry of Education in Tor, South Sinai
  v. Letter of behavior from previous school
